Kitchen Complete!

KITCHEN BEFORE!(it is a little better decorated because this was the previous owner)

We are finally done with the kitchen! I know we haven't really been working on it really that long, but the cupboards are finally cleaned of all sawdust for good! We decided about 1 month ago that our kitchen needed a change. We started out doing just little improvements until we ultimately decided to just remodel the whole thing.

Round 1- adding crown molding to the tops of the cabinets, painting them white, and adding new hinges and hardware. After we did all that we finally decided that we were going to buy new appliances. We had been mulling over the idea for a while because the dishwasher was about to break, and the stove was really gross looking. We decided that if we were going to have to buy appliances before selling the house, we might as well get all the use out of them that we can. Michael really wanted the microwave over the stove, but our cupboards were too low.

Round 2-tear all the crown molding of the cabinets so we can raise the middle one to fit the microwave. We tore all the crown molding down and raised the middle cabinet. Then we added the microwave over the stove and added the crown molding along the top! I think it looks awesome with the cabinet raised.

Round 3-ripping out countertops and tiling them. My parents came out to help us tile our countertops because my dad just did their house this summer. He was a really good help and taught us a lot about tile. Michael cut every single tile, and then I mortared them to the counter. It took us about all day saturday but we finally got all the pieces glued.

Round 4-Grouting. Grouting is probably one of the messiest things I have done. We grouted the tile monday morning. I got work off to stay and help but Michael got out of it because he had to work and go to school. So monday afternoon we grouted and let it all dry. Monday night we finally put in all the new appliances and got them all hooked up! Our finished product couldnt' have been any better! it looks awesome! good job mom, dad, and Michael!

THE FINISHED PRODUCT!! WE LOVE IT!!!
